About Us

At Basswood Farm, we have been raising Thoroughbreds, TB/Warmbloods, and occasional TB/QH crosses since 1984. For many years, we concentrated primarily on hunters and hunter/jumpers, with occasional forays into dressage.  We now primarily compete in dressage.

Several of our foals have won national honors: in 2000, appendix QH All in Silver [Windchester (QH) x Seamefly (TB) x MoBay(TB)] placed in the AQHA top ten for Amateur Pleasure Driving and Amateur Working Hunter. In 2002, Front Row [Shönfeld (Trakehner) x Seamefly] was the Horse of the Year of the AHSA as first year green hunter.

A
lthough we will continue to breed promising hunter/jumpers, we now intend to concentrate on dressage. Our young horses are showing great promise.

B
asswood Farm horses are noted for their even temperaments and excellent minds, along with good movement and conformation. We work with our babies every day so they are trusting and calm. We are a small farm, so we have time to concentrate on every horse.

We hope you will consider a Basswood Farm horse for your next mount. Check out our "Current Horses" link for information about our mares and foals, and click on "For Sale" for horses currently offered for purchase. And if you are thinking about getting a boxer as your next dog, please consider a rescue!  We are also the home of Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue.

e hope to see you soon!
